If you’ve scrolled through social media this summer, you may have noticed a few styles that everyone’s been wearing! Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store or the beach, these trends capture the perfect balance between casual and polished – ready to go anywhere. A summer style always works in Hawaii, so we are here for these trends that have taken over the gram!

What’s trending in fashion this summer that you can also wear in Hawaii?

Something new that we’ve seen a lot of these past few months is the Coastal Grandma style. Channeling our inner classy grandma on the beach, some key pieces, mostly consisting of elevated basics, make up this look. All you need in your wardrobe to put together your own ‘Coastal Grandma’ inspired outfits are button downs, a lightweight knit sweater and/or cardigan, basic white or neutral tops, loose linen beige pants, gold jewelry, and maybe even a white flowy dress if you’re feeling extra posh.

Casual Dresswear is a trend that we’ve seen pieces taken from spring right into summer! While previous seasons paired blazer jackets with tailored pants as more of a set kind of look, this summer these pieces have been given their own individual place in the wardrobe. Blazer jackets are worn with silky dresses or a skirt, t-shirt, and sneakers for a casual workwear style. All while tailored dress pants are paired with basic white tank tops and sneakers for a streetwear look that says “my office pants are more comfortable than jeans.” This style is perfect for a day out and about shopping small business in Hawaii!

Colorful Retro styles have been on their way back to top trends for a while now, and this summer season has been no less different. From patterned pieces to bright bags and shoes and funky shaped sunglasses, this trend is here to stay as we sport our brightest shades around town. Not only is this trend fun and unique but it allows for a mix and matched kind of style if you’re feeling like straying from neutrals and trying something new.

If bright colors and retro styles aren’t your thing, you’re in good company as Classic Basics still hold their place as a top trend this summer! Pieces for this style can come right from a capsule wardrobe – perfect for any season.
