Meet Ali, CEO and Founder of Kapa Mag.

Ali is a fashion and education professional with over 30 years in the industry and more than two decades of youth service in Hawai‘i. A proud Priory alum, she later earned her degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and Marketing from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa — blending design expertise with business and cultural insight.

Ali founded Kapa Mag as a way to unite fashion, performance, education, and identity — creating a platform that reflects both her life’s work and the needs of Hawai‘i’s youth. With time spent living in Tahiti, studying in NYC, and years rooted in Hawai‘i’s DOE, her perspective is broad, but her mission is clear: to help young people show up with confidence, creativity, and care.

Franc has been part of Kapa Mag since 2016 and has coached talent for over a decade. He began mentoring models and performers early on, developing a sharp eye for stage presence, storytelling, and authentic expression.

At Kapa Mag, Franc leads communications, creative direction, and live productions. He also serves as event coordinator, in-house MC, and host of The Franc Show. His energy and creativity keep Kapa’s events fresh, engaging, and community-driven. Whether you’re stepping into the spotlight or behind the scenes, Franc helps talent shine with clarity and confidence.

Kana’i Takemura is a talented and dedicated music instructor who is passionate about helping students reach their full potential. As a vocal coach for KAPA, Kana’i has made a significant impact on the youth of Hawaii by further developing their musical skills. In addition, she is an online voice and ukulele instructor for KT Studios, bringing her expertise to students worldwide. With her deep commitment to music education and her extensive experience, Kana’i is the perfect choice for anyone looking to take their skills to the next level.
