Service Description

Mālama Moments is a Kapa Magazine Hawaiʻi community program rooted in care, presence, and creative service. Through this initiative, we bring joy and personal connection to kūpuna (elders), care homes, and individuals who benefit from one-on-one attention — through music, storytelling, art, or simple conversation. We believe a moment of genuine connection can uplift the spirit and remind someone they are seen, valued, and loved. Whether through intimate pop-up performances, delivery of personalized notes and gifts, or creative visits to care facilities, Mālama Moments is how we mālama (care for) our community in meaningful ways. Why It Matters Nurtures intergenerational connection Uses the arts as a bridge for emotional healing and joy Reminds our kūpuna and community members that they are remembered and honored Creates a model of compassion in action for youth and creatives How It Works Visits and performances take place regularly, especially in care homes or with those in need of encouragement Creatives, youth, and community members are invited to participate or support Small acts of kindness — from a song to a handwritten card — make a lasting impact If you know someone who could benefit from a Mālama Moment, or would like to participate, contact us to learn more. Let’s keep aloha in action.
